PIECE OF HISTORY - The Dunedin Golf Club played a very important role in the history of golf. Many, many professional golfers have walked our grounds. The Club was designed by world- famous golf architect Donald Ross and built in 1926. Thanks to the hard work of many people, the Club managed to survive the Great Depression and World War and still continues to serve this community.
The Seniors Tournament was started in Augusta, Georgia, in 1937 and moved to Dunedin in 1945, eventually growing to a 72-hole event. That same year, 1945, saw the city of Dunedin sign a lease with the Professional Golf Association (PGA,) which led the PGA to designate our Club as its National Golf Club.
The success of the Seniors Tournament and other events led the PGA to move its National Headquarters to Dunedin from Chicago in 1956. The famous golfer, Gene Sarazen, won the Seniors twice, 1954 and 1958. By 1962, however, the PGA had outgrown our Dunedin facility and moved to Palm Beach Gardens.
Since then, the Dunedin Golf Club continues to have a place in the records and hearts of PGA players and the world.

No one called in with the correct answer to our "fill-in-the blank" question: "Dunedin's quota of $________in World War II war bonds was surpassed on each of 7 individual drives."

WHAT'S GOING ON AT THE MUSEUM?
Board of Directors
We are pleased to present to you our newest member of our Board of Directors, Mr. Tony Mitchell. Tony has served on city committees as well as holding several board and committee positions at the Dunedin Golf Club.
Tony continues to own and run a company that provides testing and certification for crane operators, a very unique and successful business. We are extremely excited to have Tony on Board.
New Legacy Brochure
We want to pass on a special thanks to Melba Rilott and David Adair whose committee put together a wonderful legacy brochure. It is well done, simple and concise. It will be distributed to the offices of financial planners and attorneys --where we hope its message inspires people who value history to consider sharing their personal treasures by including The Dunedin Museum in the legacy process.
Thank you Melba and David!

STIRLING EXHIBIT - People keep coming and they keep raving about our "Sister City - Stirling, Scotland" exhibit. The Stirling Art Gallery and Museum of Stirling, and our own Dunedin New World Celts joined to provide an exciting and very educational presentation of Scottish history.
It's all to honor and support our Scottish heritage and our wonderful Sister City. Take advantage of another of your membership benefits - admission is free to members. Please bring a friend - they will be amazed at the exhibits of Stirling and the famous Battle of Bannockburn, all for only $2.00 per person (non-member charge.)
PLUS, as a bonus, guests will still have the chance to see our much talked-about Pirate exhibition on display. That's like a home run!
SINCERE THANKS - A sincere thanks goes out to Andy Chiodo who had a vision of extending our Sister City relationship. Andy is in the process of working with Dunedin schools so they can interact with local school children in Stirling, Scotland.
If we can make this work as well as we believe it can, we are sure it will be of great educational value to all the young ones for whom we must preserve and bring history alive. Another thanks goes to Andy who also stepped forward to become our PR Chairman. Thanks Andy!
We also want to express our appreciation to John Kessinger, who assumed the role of Chairman of our Long Range Financial Planning Committee. John immediately found highly-qualified persons for 11 positions on the committee and has already had a most successful meeting. We thank John and his entire committee for their time and dedication.
