Museum of Seminole County History
announces new paranormal tour
Sanford, May 3, 2014--Have you ever had an unexplained paranormal experience? Now you can learn about the Museum of Seminole County History’s suspected paranormal activity and numerous sightings in one of the oldest buildings in the county. The Museum proudly announces its second tour, the Paranormal Activity Tour, which opens to the public on Thursday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m.
The Museum staff arranged for a paranormal investigation by a local group of specialists in the paranormal on Nov. 5, 2013 and again on Jan. 25, 2014. The team’s goal was to delve into reports that visitors to the building at 300 Bush Boulevard had experienced some unexplained “phenomena.” Using up-to-date computerized equipment, investigators detailed voice recordings, spiritual presences, orbs photographed with infrared cameras and other occurrences which were captured on those two evenings. Visitors to the museum can now take the tour on state-of-the-art tablets and visit the locations in the museum buildings where the heaviest paranormal activity was documented.
The tour includes a side trip into the basement, where a high level of paranormal activity was experienced. The Museum’s main building (The former Old Folks Home) was built in 1926 and is one of the few buildings in Central Florida with a basement. Much of the building’s history as The Old Folks Home is also included in the tour.
Admission for the tour is $3.00 for adults, $1.00 for students plus tax, and children under 4 are free. Visitors can also take the “History of Seminole County” tour for an additional $3.00. Both tours last about an hour. For more information or details, call 407-665-2489.
The Museum of Seminole County History is an award-winning program of Seminole County’s Leisure Services Department—named 2009 Best Museum by Florida Monthly Magazine. We invite you to visit the Museum and any of the numerous recreational opportunities in the Leisure Services Department.
