May 29, 1967: 25 kids in station wagon lands Miami woman in jail

OK, so if you are operating an illegal nursery school, you might want to steer clear of a couple things so the authorities won't notice.
Number one, don't pack 25 nursery-age kids into your station wagon. A Miami municipal judge sentenced Flora Dickinson to 30 days in jail after she was pulled over with her packed vehicle and couldn't explain where she was or where she had come from, a Miami News report said.

A misspelled handbill was found in the station wagon advertising "supervized play for your children." She told a judge she was not running an unlicensed nursery school in her backyard and said she didn't know who called and told her to pick up all the kids. She said she thought she was called by a nursery school for which she used to drive as a favor.
The other thing you shouldn't do if you are running an illegal nursery school? Drive around with a loaded .38 revolver in your purse. Mrs. Dickinson got 60 days in jail and a $500 fine for that.
